Top Ten Championship Showdown

                                                                    2008

 

Thursday, September 4, 2008, 8:00 a.m.

Contestants qualify for this event based on points earned throughout the regular season; however, points are not carried forward from the season.  All contestants begin with zero points.  Awards are paid to first and second place finishers as well as one top point earner in each age group for boys and girls. 

Check-in begins at 7:00 a.m. Thursday, September 4, at the secretary’s office.  Every contestant must check in to receive their complimentary Showdown hat or visor and their number.   

Events will run from 10th place qualifier to 1st place, except for the barrels and poles which will be drawn for position.  There will be a break at approximately 12:00 p.m. for the Indian Relay Races.  The rodeo will resume upon completion of that event.  We anticipate running the goat ribbon pull and the goat tie down in front of the bucking chutes while they are setting the I.R.R.  We must be finished with the rodeo by 3:00 PM, so if you can help out in any of the events, please do so. 

The awards presentation will be held directly following the rodeo at an announced location.  All spectators are invited to attend. 

Admission to the fair is required to attend the rodeo.  Admission to the rodeo is free.  Coca-cola wristbands are available and include free gate admission and unlimited carnival rides.  I am not sure what time their booth opens, so if you decide to go this way, I would make arrangements to buy them prior to Thursday. 

If anyone is interested in organizing a float for the parade, please let me know.  Last year the IJRA float won first place; they did a really great job.   

No stalls are available at the fairgrounds due to the race horses being in attendance.  RV parking may be available by checking with the EISF at 785-2480 or on-line at http://www.idaho-state-fair.com/ .
